Moving to a Public Storage,PackRat,Smartbox or POD call Inside Moves

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

When facing a need for a storage solution there’s lots to consider.

Inside Moves can move to any storage solution, PackRat, Pods, Smartbox or Public Storage. We get 20-30% more stuff in less space, that means less rent for you. All your furniture gets paper padded and shrinkwrapped before being professionally loaded. We also offer a full packing service as well if you don’t have the time to pack.

Do you simply want your stuff to disappear and reappear with the movers? In this case we can portable store it or it goes to our storage location till you call for it’s return. Access is limited and has to be set up 24-48 hours ahead.

Are you going to be visiting it a lot? Then you need a mini storage that allows you to come and go as you please.

Do you want control over your storage where you control access with a lock and key only you have? Then a mini storage or portable storage suits you.

How long do you need it stored? If only a couple days we can hold it on the truck.

Do you need onsite storage while a remodel or water damage is being done? PackRat, Smartbox and Pods will work in this case but they should go back to the storage facility. The sun passing over the storage unit everyday will nuke your goods like a microwave. If you don’t believe this just sit in your car with the windows up on an overcast day, think about how hot it will get in a sealed container.

Inside Moves UTUBE moment 11/9/09, Inside Moves can HOIST

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

Inside Moves preforms hoist jobs here’s how, this was a UTUBE moment with out a camera.

Inside Moves would like to thank Bruce and Kristin for trusting Allan’s referral on their recent move. This was a 2 day move, the first day was Kristen to her new apartment Valley Village to Valley Village fairly easy move Kristen bought the boys lunch and her spirits were great the whole move. Toby and Danny even short one man, kicked butt and by the time Emilio and I got there to help for the most part they were done.

The next day was Bruce’s turn, Bruce’s move was more difficult because he had a third floor carry up.( This means the apartment was on the third floor and the crew was carrying the stuff up 2 flights of stairs, good cardio workout if it doesn’t kill you).

Bruce had more stuff so we ran a three man crew which I joined later in the day. Bruce also had a huge custom made entertainment center that when put together takes up 16ft of wall. The main piece was 8×8x2.5ft. Bruce had the center cut down in an effort to make it fit in the stairway, it didn’t. The alternate plan was to hoist the piece up the back and over the balcony. I had checked this option prior to the move and it was not a good one as power poles that ran along the backside of the building had lines that stool 3 ft off the building a directly in the way.

The next option was to flip the entertainment unit on  top of the box of the moving truck and hoist it avoiding the powerlines. We got lucky and the lines were cable not power so we padded the ET unit, padded the lines, padded the balcony edge and while the guys on the bottom lifted the unit  with help of Bruce we pulled it up the side of the building. The first attempt one end got caught under the line and a bow and arrow reaction occurred as I shouted the guys on the bottom to lower the piece the second attempt was a success. If it wasn’t for Bruce reach (he got about 2ft more then us short guys at the top) it would have been tough.

Thanks Bruce if you every want to quit your day job give us a call.

In the near future we will be promoting are Inside Moves on UTUBE with packing tips, showing how we load portable storage, showing the team in action so stay tuned Inside Moves is coming to UTUBE to show you why we are the BETTER MOVER.

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

The new crown jewel facility of the Jewish Home for the Aging in Reseda California is just months away from OPENING and INSIDE MOVES is here to help.

Helpful Hints for Senior Moves

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

Inside Moves has been moving company for Seniors to their new homes from the beginning. The Senior move is a speciality that demands more customer service skills and patience then other moves. The family as well as the mover needs to coordinate with the Senior home on many things. Here’s a list of helpful things to consider.

Most seniors are going from a home some times 2-3 bedroom house to a much smaller living area. The first step should be clean up any clutter, a spring cleaning if you will. Go through closets and give away or donate any thing that others can use but you don’t need. This is also a good time to set up for a yardsale if you have the manpower. As donation goes if it’s going to be donated these days it has to be ready to sell although as you go down the donation food chain they get less picky as to what they will take. This is also a time where a good organizer can be a great help. Call us if you need a referral. There is also a company Gentle Transitions that helps from start to finish.

The next step if you have not already found a place is start looking. This is often a long process as this is got many considerations. Each facility has a different flavor as well as cost. Consideration as to care must be taken in also, full care, nursing, activities, food all these things play a part.

Now that a new home has been found we get to move preparation. The home has been chosen how much space are we working with. Some places are bigger then others. Plan out how the room is going to be set up, this also a good time again to do get rid of things or store them.

Now that we know what’s moving, where it’s going and the details of the delivery it’s time to call Ted at Inside Moves 818 515 0158. I’ll be happy to give you an estimate for you move. We can professionally pack, store, and move your goods from start to finish. Our crews will help your family to make this as easy a move as possible. Inside moves has worked with many of the Senior Facilities in San Fernando Valley not only will Ted come to your home and see what’s moving but we will drive out to your new home and check access there for an accurate estimate. This is also a good time to discuss the details of the customer, often this is a stressed time. Your parents don’t want to move, this where Inside Moves where shines. With crews that understand and care about the customer the more information we have the more we can personalize the move.

These are just a few of the facilities we have worked in
