Moving Rules for Dogs…..and cats

Monday, July 26th, 2010

Moving is not only stressful on you, but think about your animals. Our animals are very attached to their surroundings. The last thing you should do is lock them up in a bath room only to leave them in an empty house. This is a good way to come back to a destroyed house or yard. Think about it the poor dog thinks he’s being left behind, what would you do?

Alway’s have water, food, toys, chew toys, and a bed.

Moving day may be a good day for the Pet Spa. Or have someone there that has pet duty.  If you have the time to introduce your animals to the new home before this is highly recommended. Bring a familiar bed and toy give them time investigate their new diggs. If your animals are kennel trained this is a plus.

The key also is to be patient, with the stress of a new place to live comes accidents, miss hap’s don’t take it out on your best friend.

Inside Moves is very pet friendly and supports Linda Blair’s Worldheart Foundation.  Inside Moves has just got a new family member “Theo” from Linda’s rescue and he is the new love of our life. He’s already is getting use to helping me gas trucks and make customers smile.

Testimonial from Yahoo Local

Monday, July 26th, 2010

We hired the right company! We had a small job so we chose to be the second job of the day. The movers arrived a little late because the first job took longer than expected. No problem - because these guys were pros. They quickly and carefully loaded our items into the truck. They made a stop along the way to drop off a couch at a friends house (just a $10 extra fee for fuel). Unloading at the destination went well. No items damaged. Professional and very courteous. I hired this company based on reviews on Yahoo and also by checking their website (which has loads of information for someone planning a move). I don’t think you can go wrong with Inside Moves. When we had a glitch here (we woke up in the morning to find that the city was repaving the streets that led to our house), it was easy to reach the owner to update him on the situation, and he provided us with the phone number to stay in touch with the crew who would arrive at our house later in the day. That crew kept in touch with us - we knew they were running late, so we weren’t sitting at home wondering where they were. This company does big moves and small moves. I’ve found a gem of a moving company.

How much to move a 3 bedroom house?

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Get this question everyday and everyday the answer is different.  Another common question, why does one person cost more to move then another with the same size house.

Moving is a custom job, everyone has different needs, amounts of stuff, different drive times, stairs, elevators. While smaller jobs can be bid over the phone with good information anything over 3 bedrooms should be given the time for an estimate. I would think it would be important to interview the person who will have your goods. This should even be more important then the price that’s give to you. The promise of a great rate means nothing it your goods are never received or are received in bad condition.

Average 3 bedroom house is  8-10,000lbs 3 men 8-9 hours plus your drivetime based on easy access.  Save yourself grief get the estimate move and with someone you call trust.

Get referrals, be packed and ready, do your best to be feed and rested the day of your move.

Moving is a service based charge, you will pay to move now sort later

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

Bottomline if your moving, only move what you need, this will help with costs. Often in our busy world we never have the time for ourselves , just keeping up with life can be overwhelming. Stuff piles up and there you are you have a move coming up.

If your moving, start out by sorting out, this is often done in the staging phase of putting your house on the market. This is one of the hardest most time consuming parts of the moving process. Only you know what you can do without. This is where a good organizer can be well worth the time and money. You need to trash, donate and pack what’s moving before the crew shows up moving day or packing day. If your pitching stuff in the trash at the unload you have wasted time and most of all MONEY.

Take one room at a time and sort trash, donation and stuff to move. Once this is done pack up what’s moving, bag up what’s donating and trash the rest. There are times when your in a time crunch, then call the movers and they will pack it all. This will lead to the “why did they pack this syndrome?”

Remember while moving sucks, it’s a great opportunity to clean up your life and start new.

As always have a great move and give us a call were here to help.

Moving in the Canyons? What you should know…

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

If your moving in the canyons of LA or your new house is on a hillside, would it make sense for your salesman to see the delivery.  If no one looks at the delivery chances are your going to get all loaded up and not get the truck to the house. This will also determine how many men to put on the job. If there is the need for a shuttle truck (this is a small pick-up truck to ferry the stuff back and fore from the primary moving truck.

Moving is all about planning, a good plan means a good move so plan ahead and call us ….Inside Moves Relocation Service Inc.

Moving Project out of Control call Inside Moves

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

Local move Malibu to Westlake and Agoura. This project started out many months ago as the biggest job of the year. Inside moves relocated a large ranch in Malibu to several storage facilities. Thanks to Calabasas Storage for the referral and to Kelly, Samantha and Bob M. for staying with the crew for several days of marathon moving.

The estimate started out almost $40,000 in moving costs, Kelly and Samantha quickly surround themselves with the best in the business. From professional movers, packers to one of the best estate sales people I’ve ever seen, this guy had great buyers and liquidated lots of good stuff.

The first walk through there was the main house, staff quarters, exercise room, tack room 10 oversea containers and 3 sun rooms of goods. About 16-18 truckloads plus packing. Next walk through the job had been narrowed down to 12-13 truckloads, by move date we ended up with 10 truckloads.

Imagine how the customer felt when they bill was under $16,000. Whose your favorite mover now? Kelly assured me we would also be helping them with their upcoming December move as well. WERE Here AND READY TO GO!

At Inside Moves a large move is no problem. I was on the job daily with the best crew money can buy. The crew was as always patient and helpful, packing many priceless antiques and storing them in a mini storage so that everything was accessible for any last minute needs.

Got a big project, office move, large household, a massive storage move call us and find out why were the best.

Find out why Inside Moves was Voted favorite MOVER in the Daily News Reader Poll 2009.

Movedoctor out

2 men and van $58@Hour?#%&*+!

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

Ever wonder how moving companies can charge this amount. Truly sounds to good to be true, or is this the real price? My question as an owner of a moving company is not only how are companies doing work at this price but also advertising it with pay for click campaigns that are cost them as much as $5-7000 plus per month and pay things like overhead, insurance, oh and wages?

The bottom line is the level of service and what the employer is paying for it. If your mover is not getting paid then more than likely your goods are going to get trashed, or worse yet never get there. If your moving garbage, I’d say save the money but if you want to see your stuff in one piece are you willing to take a chance?

Not long ago I received a letter from a lady asking it I knew of a company called Fast Relocation and that her property was in storage and the company wasn’t in business anymore. The letter was sent out to ever mover in the valley. Her items were worth $250,000  GONE!!!

When you pick a local mover check them out, take the time to get a referral. Is that mover a member of the CMSA or the BBB*. If you choose the cheap guy over the referral hope for the best. As mover at Inside Moves we know we have your life in our truck and we treat as our own.

At least twice a month I get a call that goes like this. A customer calls and says the moving crew has been gone for 2 hours. They said they would take lunch and drive to the delivery and they are not here. WHERE’S MY CREW? The funny part is I have no crews in the field. These people paid so little attention they don’t even know whose moving their stuff.

Moving is hard work and a moving crew should get paid well. The industry like everything else has not kept up with the times. A mover is now making the same or less than in 1990.

At $58 for two men and a truck your taking a gamble. If it works out save that number, but I’m sure it will be no good in a year.

If your looking for great move at a real price call us “Were not going anywhere and we’ll always be here when you need us.”

* As a paying member of the BBB this only allows you to defend yourself from complaints. If you don’t pay the BBB you just get complaints. As of today we have had no complaints since opening call us a find out why.
