Inside Moves helps Seniors move in at the Village in Northridge and Valley Village

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

Inside Moves would like to thank the many residences at the Village Senior centers in Northridge and Valley Village for using Inside Moves Services in the last weeks. Both the management and customers are again finding out why Inside Moves is #1 in customer satisfaction in the San Fernando Valley.

Senior moves require a special touch and patience that is different to an everday move. The crew often packs, moves and unpacks all in the same day to keep disruption to a minimum.

There is often a lot of hand holding as parents are not eagar to leave their home of many years.(Ask our movers about the group hug) We work hand and hand with the children and the facility to make the move as positive and stress free as possible.

So if your moving your parents into  the Village or Fountain View, or your moving to or with in these facilities call us, Inside Moves will make easy.

Our great crews have the attitudes, the old school work ethic and the ability that make your move the best you’ll ever have. Call Ted now at 818 515 0158 and get ready to move. Ask about the blog discount.

Moving is a service based charge, you will pay to move now sort later

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

Bottomline if your moving, only move what you need, this will help with costs. Often in our busy world we never have the time for ourselves , just keeping up with life can be overwhelming. Stuff piles up and there you are you have a move coming up.

If your moving, start out by sorting out, this is often done in the staging phase of putting your house on the market. This is one of the hardest most time consuming parts of the moving process. Only you know what you can do without. This is where a good organizer can be well worth the time and money. You need to trash, donate and pack what’s moving before the crew shows up moving day or packing day. If your pitching stuff in the trash at the unload you have wasted time and most of all MONEY.

Take one room at a time and sort trash, donation and stuff to move. Once this is done pack up what’s moving, bag up what’s donating and trash the rest. There are times when your in a time crunch, then call the movers and they will pack it all. This will lead to the “why did they pack this syndrome?”

Remember while moving sucks, it’s a great opportunity to clean up your life and start new.

As always have a great move and give us a call were here to help.

How do most people pick a MOVER?

Friday, July 31st, 2009

The way most people find a mover is quickly changing but for the most part the reason people buy are not. 5 years ago if you were looking for a mover you first would go to the yellowpages, maybe go to the computer or get a referral from a friend or contact the BBB in the area.

If your in the yellowpages you would first open the book call 3-4 movers and then set up your appointment or decide based on price. The problem with this is looking in the yellowpages you start in the front assuming everyone has like kind service and the only difference is the price.

Now days many customers never even get to the yellow pages and simply use the computer and again the first question is how much does it cost to move? Funny part about that is often the customer hasn’t even said what’s moving. Never assuming that anything but cost separates one company from another.  Often it’s amazing the DEALS I see cruising google looking for movers, deals to good to be true.

The best way to get your moving company is by referal  ,at Inside Moves we realize the only way you get that is by earning it . Doing the right thing and not treating your customers as simply one more head to harvest. This is the way most smart and wealthy people move.

In the day where on the Internet a customer can find a  2 movers for $58, $59, and $65 and up the smart consumer asks what the difference between a company charging $58 an hour and one the charges $90. How can there be such a difference. The bottom line is if it sounds to good to be true it is. If it sounds like a duck and walks like a duck what is it?

To operate a moving company there’s more going on then simply hiring 2 guys and sending out a truck. Just some of the costs are employees, equipment, fuel, insurance, material and that internet advertising (all advertising). If a company says $58 an hour, they charging a rate that is less then it costs to preform the job. Great deal for the consumer until something goes wrong or do you think they find the money somewhere else.  These are the moving scammers that give the industry a bad name.

Like packing or material?

Or are they paying worker comp?

How much are they paying your movers?

In 1990 the hourly rate a Bekins Vanlines was $71.50 hourly how can the cost of moving be $58 almost 20 years later.

At a hourly rate of $90 for 2 men and truck the profit  margin is small if everything is beening paid. Maybe others have found a better way but here at Inside Moves we will keep on providing a superior level of service at a rate that we can still profit. Because as my wife Melissa says, if your working for FREE your working for ME.

If your  looking for quality moving service at a fair cost with professional packers and movers that know their job as well as excellent customer service skills. Were your type of company.

If your simply looking for the cheapest mover and willing to take the gamble with your goods, call until you find a company that will tell you exactly what you want to hear. At the end of the day when you get your bill and the job is 2-3 times the phone estimate, I hope you feel you got what you paid for.

The decision is yours pay a legitimate rate and have peace of mind or gamble and hope your day turns out. MOVE WITH THE PRO”S CALL US

Are You Packed and ready to Move?

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Are you packed and ready to move or did you stop packing half way through the game. Most move estimates unless you ask or tell them have no packing in the estimate. If this is the case be sure when the movers come moving day all your boxes are sealed up labeled as to where they are going.

If your table tops are covered with stuff, counters are full and floors are covered with clothes your not ready to move.

If the movers come and you are not packed and ready expect extra charges. Movers charge for boxes and the time packing. If your estimator has estimated your job for 8 hours with 2 men and your half packed your bid could easily go over 50% or more. Remember after 8 hours is time and half so your move is now 75% over.

If you need help packing let your mover know so he can add men to the crew and not have guys out on overtime that the customer isn’t willing to pay. As always you get what you pay for so MOVE SMART  with Inside Moves.
